It seems the British National Party (BNP) are having real problems getting what would be termed ‘acceptable’ candidates to stand in the 2010 General Election.
BNP Candidate for Coventry North West Edward Sheppard, was convicted in 2002 or wounding and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
The BNP never stop amazing me this election, you would think that by now the BNP would have learned to investigate their potential candidates before putting them up for election. This is one occasion where the BNP can’t simply claim he made a mistake many years ago, this one is recent enough to really count in terms of the 2010 General Election campaign.
We constantly hear the BNP screaming about the liars and criminals in parliament, normally over MPs expenses but they never seem to want to advertise the fact that their own candidates have criminal convictions that the people who could be voting for them must have a right to know about.
Do the voters of Coventry North really want to vote for a man who carries such a recent criminal conviction for wounding and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.? it’s not like it’s a minor offence that could be put down to a moment of madness or anger, it is clearly a serious offence.
We must continue to say no to the politics of division and hatred spread by the BNP, do you really want to elect an MP that has no problem using a gun to endanger someones life?
