The British National Party (BNP) sees their second candidate stand down from the 2010 General Election in 2 days, yesterday Mark Onions was expelled from the BNP for as the party claims being a UKIP mole.
Today Daniel McDonald BNP candidate for Horsham has withdrawn his candidacy, according to the BNP:
South East regional organiser for the BNP Andy McBride said: “I can confirm Daniel McDonald is standing down for personal and private reasons.
“We have no problem with his candidature and he remains a member of the BNP. We will not standing a replacement candidate, which means unfortunately we cannot contest the seat.”
Rumours started circulating about Daniel McDonald a few days ago, suggesting he had been sacked by the BNP over an assault charge he had not declared to the party leadership, although this hasn’t been confirmed anywhere I can find any evidence of it does seem strange that just a few days after the rumour started Daniel McDonald ‘Stands Down’ coincidence? you decide.
So it seems the BNP couldn’t find a replacement for Daniel McDonald, just another sign that the BNP are struggling to find enough suitable people (or volunteers) to stand on behalf of the party, even less of a chance for the BNP to make any impact in the 2010 General Election, the wheels are starting to fall off the BNP campaign all round.
The BNP has no chance of winning any significant number of seats in the next parliament (they’d be lucky to get one in my opinion), but it’s another clear sign that a vote for the BNP is a wasted vote.
