The British National Party (BNP) Legal Director Lee Barnes shows another link between the BNP and the English Defence League (EDL) by publicly offering via his blog to represent any EDL Member who is targeted in prison, a direct quote from Lee Barnes blog reads:

Can anyone give me any details on this as I have a personal grudge against the Prison Service for their corruption, political discrimination and apathy and I will gladly help any EDL prisoner who has suffered at the hands of the politically correct scum that run the Prison Service.

Whist the British National Parties official position is that the EDL is a proscribed organisation that should have no links to the BNP, Lee Barnes is offering an open invitation to represent any EDL members who are in prison, which surely goes directly against the BNP Leader Nick Griffin’s rules that there should be no links between the two organisations.

As the 2010 General Election is only a matter of weeks away, and considering the rest of this weeks goings on within the BNP one would have to question the wisdom of Lee Barnes making such a direct public offer to represent/help EDL members, of which according to the BNP members of the party cannot be members/supporters of the EDL. Does this show direct support of the English Defence League directly from the mouth of the BNP’s Legal Director Lee Barnes?

Vote No To The BNP in 2010

The British National Party (BNP) continual attempts to distance itself from far-right extremist groups such as Blood & Honour, but a new report from the Centre for Social Cohesion provides evidence of the both direct and indirect links between the two groups which stretch back for a number of years, including Blood & Honour groups making financial donations to the BNP.

The following information comes from the Centre for Social Cohesion report into the Blood & Honour organisation which you can read HERE

Blood & Honour (B&H) is an international neo-Nazi network that has evolved from its original incarnation as a neo-Nazi music scene into a far-right franchise. Through music CDs and ideological texts, the B&H network reinforces and disseminates a violent ‘white power’ supremacist ideology. This ideology derives from Third Reich Nazism and, unlike some other far-right organisations, B&H seeks the creation of a ‘Fourth Reich’. While it is not an organisation with official membership, B&H acts as a very effective international network through which to spread violent neo-Nazism.

Connections to far-right terrorism

Although B&H has no official members, a number of recently convicted far-right terrorists were found to be followers of B&H music and literature:

● Nathan Worrell: Found guilty in December 2008 of possession of material for terrorist purposes and racially aggravated harassment; jailed for over seven years. At his residence, police uncovered bomb-making manuals and materials, as well as a Combat 18 (C18) video, which contained instructions on how to make a bomb using household items. Worrell was also in possession of a large amount of neo-Nazi propaganda material, including some produced by C18 (C18 is part of B&H).

● Neil Lewington: Convicted in September 2009 on seven separate charges, including preparing acts of terrorism; sentenced to an indeterminate prison sentence of at least six years. The expert witness at his trial stated that B&H materials played a central role in his radicalisation.

● Martyn Gilleard: Found guilty in June 2008 of preparing for terrorist acts and possessing articles and collecting information for terrorist purposes; sentenced to 16 years in prison. Among the materials found at his residence were copies of Blood & Honour magazine. Also found among his own writings was the ‘14 Words’ slogan, which is popular with B&H and can be found in much of the organisation’s literature.

Links to the British National Party (page 20 of the report)

B&H UK political links
All three of Britain’s main ‘nationalist’ political organisations have links with the B&H movement.

British National Party (BNP)

The British National Party (BNP) has a long-running relationship with B&H, and C18 emerged from the BNP security team. Under the ‘modernisation’ directives of BNP chairman and MEP Nick Griffin, the party’s links to such extremists have supposedly been severed.10 However, there is evidence that B&H is still tolerated by senior members of the party.

BNP Chairman Nick Griffin is well aware of the B&H organisation and its British activists. Steve Cartwright, a long-standing B&H leader, has claimed in an article that he was asked by Griffin in 1997 to tell C18 leader Will Browning that the BNP and C18 were ‘on the same side’.11

In the summer of 2001, Nick Griffin traveled to Oldham during a period marred by race riots. Speaking on the BBC Panorama programme that same year, Darren Wells, a former C18 organiser, recalled Griffin’s visit to the town, during which the BNP leader again affirmed his support for C18. According to Wells, Griffin met C18 members and endorsed the group, despite the fact that C18 is the armed wing of B&H:

“When we were in that pub drinking with some BNP supporters, they mentioned that Griffin was in town and that he wanted to come down and have a drink with us. And when C18 were asked if they had a problem they said no, bring him down. He’s welcome to come down for a drink. And at no time did he make any effort at all to try and stop people drinking with C18 people, he didn’t make any effort at all to stop people going, after a violent confrontation with Asian gangs. Griffin’s words that stick with me were ‘We’re all on the same side’.

In January 2008, Griffin tried to distance the BNP from B&H in his ‘New Year Message’, telling the audience that he was heartened to see nationalist music move away ‘from the grim, raucous, counter-productive hatred of the old neo-Nazi Blood & Honour scene’.13 In response to this, Griffin’s former B&H ally Steve Cartwright wrote the above-mentioned article, in which he also questioned the sincerity of Griffin’s anti-B&H comments.14 He describes how Griffin was, in the
past, very close to Highlander, B&H’s Scotland division, and that it would, in return, often donate funds raised at Highlander events to the BNP. Cartwright also gives a specific example of Highlander raising funds for the BNP:

“An ideal example of the measure of support that ‘Highlander’ gave the BNP is the ‘Ballads for the new Britain’ CD.

In 2002 we held a ballads evening in Armadale, Scotland. John, Stigger and Sisco [neo-Nazi musicians] were playing again. None of the band members took a penny expenses as it was planned that the BNP should benefit fully from that gig. The day after the gig the lads went into a studio and began work on the ballads CD.

Over the next couple of weeks the CD was ‘tidied up’ at the expense of ‘Highlander’ and when the album was near completion a prominent ‘British Hammerskin’ – again working for nothing – did the cover and CD artwork. The only thing the BNP had to do was get Tony Lecomber to print the covers.

The CD hit the stalls at that year’s RWB [Red, White and Blue] festival. The sales (and exchanges) from nearly 3000 ‘Ballads for the new Britain’ CDs allowed the BNP’s ‘Excalibur’ merchandising [wing] to get off the ground a lot quicker than anyone in the BNP expected in their wildest dreams.”

The B&H Bllads for the New Britain CD, which, according to Cartwright, was sold at the 2002 BNP Red, White and Blue (RWB) family festival, was also on sale on the BNP’s website until 2004.16 ‘Excalibur’ is the BNP’s official merchandising wing, and Cartwright’s claim that B&H music helped fund its creation also illustrates the lasting effect of the BNP’s relationship with B&H.

At present, the BNP continues to attract – and apparently tolerate – the presence of self-declared B&H supporters. For example, the authors of the Covert Undercover Nuisance Tactics blog, which enthusiastically supports and promotes B&H, have written articles stating that they were present at the BNP’s 2008 and 2009 RWB ‘family festivals’.17 Griffin is aware of the nature of this group, having received an open letter in 2007 complaining about his failure to act against Tommy Williams, one of the Covert blog writers.18 Furthermore, videos from the 2007 and 2009 RWB, including a Sky One documentary, depict a number of individuals with B&H shirts and tattoos.

The above are sections from the extensive report compiled by the Centre for Social Cohesion which you can download and read for yourself HERE.

But i’m sure you will agree with me that on reading the above it does demonstrate clear links between the British National Party (BNP) and the Blood & Honour (B&H) as well as Combat 18 (C18), which the BNP continually try to deny as they continue to attempt to display themselves as a legal political party with no links to such right-wing extremist organisations.

The question you need to ask yourself if you are considering voting for the British National Party (BNP) is can you really take the risk of giving the BNP your vote knowing that links to such extremist organisations exist to the party?.

Just imagine what would happen if the BNP ever came to power in the UK, would we have Combat 18 (C18) and Blood & Honour (B&H) groups roaming free on the streets of Britain allowed to carry out acts of violence and terror at their own will? we also need to ask just how much influence these groups have over the BNP leadership and would members of these groups become part of any BNP Government?.

The only way to make sure we don’t have to find the answers to these questions is to

“Power concedes nothing without a demand; it never has and it never will.”
Frederick Douglass

The perpetual and prolific infighting between far right groups continues with internet accusations of ineptitude, informing and duplicity which, as ever, makes for interesting reading. The pro-BNP Covert Undercover Nuisance website has rather amusingly highlighted the latest NF gaff : the NF News webpage is headlined with a quote by black political activist Frederick Douglass which has provided all sides with much mirth and the NF with red faces. The NF recently split into 2 cliques, one led by Eddy Morrison and the other by ageing racist and technophobe Tom Holmes whose lack of media savvy has seen a lifetime’s work washed round the S-bend. Holmes stuck to photocopying and posting his missives to the members whilst Morrison, more technically proficient and perhaps with some ‘expert help’, rallied support on the net to help depose Holmes’ leadership clique. Eventually, Holmes realised the gig was up and resigned.

Morrison has since cranked up the NF’s election campaign by issuing an urgent appeal for deposits money from members. This is clearly a tactic to split the far right vote as the NF will no doubt stand in the same areas as the BNP as they appeal to the same people. The NF website also promises several days of action and a meeting in London which will see “a very, very big turnout in the light of recent and not too distant changes in the Nationalist scene.” On his blog, Morrison berates the BNP’s dodgy accounting, citing this as another reason to join the NF. Despite this flurry of activity, the year has not started off that well for the NF with their dramatic no-show at Wootton Bassett the other week much mocked by others on the far right.

To counter the NF ‘threat’ the Coverts have attacked Morrison on the web. The Coverts are Tommy Williams and Dave Howard, amply supported by Bev Kerry, VNN moderator and hamster enthusiast. The website consists of Photoshop generated slurs and images and the last few entries have been aimed at Morrison. Part of this bad blood goes back to Morrison’s exclusion from the BNP and a squabble last year over a leaked NF membership list which the Coverts claimed to have. Morrison denied this so Williams and Howard door stepped Morrison to prove it; Morrison refused to come out and phoned the cops claiming they had threatened him with weapons. However, Howard had videoed the whole thing so the transcripts will clarify whether this is true and highlight any discrepancies in Morrison’s statement to the cops. Following this event however, the Covert website went down until the new year when it bounced back reinvigorated with even more venom for Morrison and his associates Tom Linden and Adam Everitt. The Coverts said that they will explain their reasons for absence shortly. Despite the NF’s varied fortunes, many on the far right still get nostalgic about it and are angered by Morrison’s move leading to the usual accusations of him being manipulated by the state: he has a record of dalliance with the security services and a history of splits and divisions so this is nothing new. The NF are also seen by some to be the last bastion of White Nationalism now that the BNP may be forced to take on non-white members.

The BNP have been under pressure from supporters and opponents alike over leaked lists (two), the freezing of memberships, the kleptocracy of Nick Griffin, the unsatisfactory accounts, the ‘jobs for the boys’ mentality of the leadership, the court case by EHRC, the possibility of having to finally accept non-white members and the recent ructions in Stoke following the Simon Darby/Alby Walker fallout. All this has led to a trickle of defections from the BNP to the NF, most notably Chris Jackson who resigned from his regional organiser position. The NF have only just stated their intentions to stand in the general election, despite them having little money for campaigning and deposits, but this still has the potential to split the far right vote. Hence the Coverts concerted effort to smear and harangue the NF and anti-Griffinite Nazis.

Recently, given the intensity of squabbling between pro-BNP VNN and anti-Griffin NWN, they decided to call a truce which according to Big Bev is “working like a charm!” Particular spleen was reserved for Sean Hadley (who set up Griffin Watch) on the Covert’s Exposing Hadley smear site and the NWNers set up a Covert Exposed website in retaliation. Following the Sheppard and Whittle convictions and the current Aryan Strike Force trial, posters are having to be a bit more cautious over what they write. (See Far Right Death Threats by ‘Malatesta’). VNN have also just removed a thread smearing Hadley. However, despite Big Bev’s claims, the Covert’s and Exposing Hadley sites do not seem to be maintaining a dignified silence and are as lively as ever.

The folks at VNN are also outraged that an article in Heritage And Destiny penned by Peter Rushton has sided with Morrison and against the Coverts. Peter Rushton is also a dodgy prospect. Combat 18 allegedly fed him false information that ended up in Searchlight which led to a beating in Diksmuide in 1993. Searchlight Exposed website has reprinted the BNP pamphlet criticising Rushton. The Heritage And Destiny magazine is run by Mark Cotterill who was in the NF, BNP, and also the US Nationalist Alliance until he left following accusations of wasting $100,000 of their money on 1 issue of Resistance magazine. He was also in the White Nationalist Party (formed by surprise, surprise, Eddy Morrison) who were told by the Electoral Commission that they could not stand under that name and then fragmented into the EFP and the BPP. Cotterill is viewed suspiciously by many on the far right including John Tyndall who “perceived distinct Asiatic traits in his physical features, possibly Chinese.” And even more damningly: “Cotterill has convinced me that he is an agent for the authorities, possibly Special Branch, possibly MI5, possibly both. I believe that he has been recruited in the same way as certain other people … evidence of some kind of criminality that would enable the powers that be to put him away for a stretch, and a consequent ‘deal’ that he would be spared if he helped them.”
If the allegations against Cotterill and Rushton are in any way true, then Heritage And Destiny aligning itself with Morrison’s agenda against the BNP comes as no surprise. Aryan Unity yet again dissolves in a mixture of cheap cider, failure and collusion.
